| I'm Trying To Do My Part… |
[19 Jan 2004|09:54am] |
To honor Dr. Martin Luther King by trying to work on my school work. I'm sure he found education to be very important. However, I really don't want to at the moment. I did read a third of the sections I need to read for my Political History of America/Georgia class for a "paper" I need to turn in on the 27th. I'm not going to fret about the paper at the moment. I can get it done. My professors only wants a paragraph for each question asked. As for the school work I am doing today, it's going to be done sporadically. :) No need for stress. I can do this! I can do this!
Now that we know which teams are going to the Super Bowl, I'm rooting for the Carolina Panthers. It seems it was just yesterday when I lived in the Fayetteville, NC area and the NFL unanimously approved the Carolina franchise in 1993. Panthers gear went like hot cakes. Everyone needed Panthers gear, even though they wouldn't play their first game until 1995. I even got myself a Panthers shirt. :) So with the Patriots defeat the family's Tennessee Titans and my brief time in NC, I'm rooting for the Panthers.
I can't wait to add RAM to this computer. It will be done at least in time for next semester. I found another radio station, besides Q 100 out of Atlanta, that broadcasts over the Internet. It's Star 98.7 out of Los Angeles, CA. Actually, it's closer to type of music I like more than Q 100 is. :) Shame I can't play it on my computer as is at the moment.
My father is enjoying the idea of Internet radio, too. He found an Internet-only oldies station and found the Neal Boortz feed. We moved the Gateway out in the dining room temporally and he'll listen to the oldies while washing dishes. This morning, he kidded me about showing him the evils of the Internet - Internet radio. I think he likes the idea.
All My Children is about to come on. I haven't watched it in a while. Today's episode looked interesting Friday.

| The Tupac Story. |
[17 Jan 2004|09:14am] |
This entry is for Trish.
Back in my senior year of high school, all the students had to partake in an emergency bus drill, in case we ever had to ride a bus and something happens to us while on it. They scheduled the bus drill for second period, which happened to be history class. :ohyeah: Actually, he's a minor character in this story. In fact, for the first drill, they made my small history class bunch up together on this bus so other classes could squeeze on the bus. He ended up sitting next to me. :ohyeah: However, I don't remember this episode of high school life because I sat next to him.
While my class was waiting for the rest of the classes to get to the bus and sit down, we all took seats on the bus by ourselves. Why not, we were the "big men" on campus. My classmate, Gary, starts reading the back in front of his bus seat. Someone had written on it "Tupac spelled backwards is caput." My whole class started laughing at this statement. Some classmates didn't believe it and went over to Gary's seat to see this statement. I think the things that interested us the most were how did this saying get on the seat and more importantly, how did it manage to survive.
The rest of that school day and once in a while, "Tupac spelled backwards is caput" pops into my head. It's sad Tupac is gone but that high school story brings me a sweet chuckle. :)

| Bi-polar Disorder Does Not Equate 100% Crazy. |
[14 Jan 2004|04:53am] |
Bryant defense claims accuser is bi-polar, requests medical history.
 I wake up to read this and it just angers me. It's very insulting to bi-polar people. It's as if his defenders are equating all people suffering from bi-polar disorder as evil schemers just trying to get attention. Sure, maybe some of us feel so depressed that we feel suicide is the only way out. But when we feel that way, we feel depressed and alone. Her suicide attempt may not have been a case to get sympathy from her ex-boyfriend, as they claim. Why can't she feel depressed and feel as her world was ending.
Many of bi-polar are sane, he just happen to have extreme mood swings. We can soar above the clouds; we can drop to the darkest depths. I doubt these defenders could even imagine what it's like to be bi-polar.
And why would ANYONE want to accuse someone of rape that's in the stature of Kobe? I doubt this girl is really getting the attention his lawyers are claiming she's trying to get. No one would want that attention.
I'm not going to claim that he's guilty, however. I just thing his defense team's tactic is nasty and attacking all that suffer from bi-polar disorder. :yuck: All those that suffer from bi-polar disorder, watch out. You're not citizens anymore. You're just a crazy person seeking attention.

| I Just Have To Survive Until The Beginning Of May. |
[13 Jan 2004|11:37am] |
I need to keep that in mind when it comes to school. I shouldn't let it stress me out. I also need to remember that B's are good. Many people would love just to have a B average. However, I don't think I'm going to take 15 hours of class in a semester anymore. 12 is full time and that should do me for a while.
This morning before school, I had Today on my TV. One of the articles brought up was about blogs. It was horrifying to hear Katie Couric and Matt Lauer discuss about blogs as if they knew about for a long time when, clearly, they had no clue. Matt was talking to Emily Nussbaum about her New York Times Magazine article, "My So-Called Blog." You can watch the clip at MSNBC.com. I just finished reading the article. It mainly concerns about teens, their blogging habits, and how it forms their personalities. It mentions that teens blog at places like Live Journal and Xanga.
I'm going to quickly reply to my e-mail and then take a nap.

| I Don't See How She Got A Lynched Man Or That Was Some Professional Man. |
[09 Jan 2004|11:24am] |
Rocky and Bullwinkle have warped my mind.
Well, survived Day 4 of school. I should have remembered something I learned after the Get Lied stunt. I was told after the fact that the Civ professor I had at the time frowned at the stunt. She felt that it was degrading to women. I didn't then and still don't. Well, in the Civ class I'm taking from her now, she's going to make some emphasis on women in history. That's all nice but I just hope this course doesn't morph into Civ. I/Women's Studies. I'm grateful for the women's movement but my view on it is: When it is enough? Why can't we be equals instead of the men vs. women thing? It's like instead of equality now, we must punish men in the present for being the dominate one in the past. Just as long as I do my work and do well, hopefully things will be fine. :sigh:
English class was next. Discussion for today was about "The Flowers" by Alice Walker. This professor asked us to write a description of what we read in 30 words or less. She asked us to read our descriptions. Before reading mine, I remarked it was hard to write something in less that 30 words but I tried, with no luck. Then I read my short description:
"The Flowers" by Alice Walker is a short story showing the loss of innocence in a child. The child walks and explores as she is used to. While gathering flowers, she comes across the ghastly remains of a man lynched. The child may not be aware of it, but she has been exposed to a new evil. As the professor is explaining that we can believe what we want from a story, we need to back it up. A girl in the class raised her handed and asked how did I get a lynching from this story. "Uh oh," I thought. I was questioning myself!
Well, the professor starts asking and the guy behind brings up the destroyed teeth. I skimmed the story and mentioned the noose. He could had committed suicide, I concede, but a noose is usually used in a lynching. Thoughts are running in my mind how to justify a lynching and a suicide, the only possible explanations for the body. Also, I figured he was lynched from the background I knew about Alice Walker. I admitted that in class. The professor read a passage from the story and explains that it IS a lynching. The description of the body points to a brutal murder. She touched briefly on the loss of innocence I mentioned, too. She said we will be discuss it a bit more on Monday.
The longer I've been out of that class today, the more I'm kicking myself for not putting 100% into my belief of the lynching. Also, I've got to remember that I'm not 18/19-years-old as this girl probably was. Yet, I question how could you not figure it was a lynching. Is that evil part of American history disappearing into the sunset? Are we to forget them now? Are those deaths by lynching becoming vain now?
Computer science class was OK. We mainly did math in the course. The class is so small, the professor can assist us if we have trouble on the class exercises. Today, we converted bits to bytes and nibbles to megabytes, all on paper.
After class, I stopped at the bookstore. They had paper at $2.10 for a pack of 100 sheets. I don't think so. I can get by with my remaining paper a bit more and wait for Wal-Mart or CVS to restock. Heck, I can probably get is cheaper at Staples, Office Depot, or Office Max. Left school and stopped at my sister's store on the way home. She bought me the Longshot soundtrack for $2.99 earlier this week and left it in her car. I wanted only the *NSYNC song on the CD and never bothered to pay $15.00 for it. I'm not really into any of the other acts on it. She also needed me to deliver some shoes to Beth. She also gave me $10.00 to spend along with a $3.00 gift certificate I wanted to spend. I bought Now That's What I Call Music 14. It had a few tracks I like and Matthew had requested that CD the other day. Thanks Nicki  It's something we can all enjoy.
Finally, I stopped at CVS to pick up some dividers that didn't cost an arm and a leg like they did at school. I was in line and another line was opening. I was the first person waiting. Some middle-aged professionally dressed man just scurried up to the line, without offering me the line first since I was there first. That sort of ticked me off because I felt it was rude. Finally a third line opened and I pounced on it. I was not going to wait so all the other patrons in the store can be waited on before me. :sigh:
That is my day so far. That's probably how eventful it will be for me.

I want to be in bed but I can't go back to sleep. I might not wake up in time to get to school. So let me blog.
Bush to seek manned flights to moon, Mars - This should thrill my father. As we watched the Mars landing the other night, he was remarking that he would love to see us return to the moon. He thought it was a shame that manned space exploration has sort of died out. He would watch the Apollo landings as a teenager. Goodness, was it just that long ago he and my mother were teens?
Woman drops lawsuit to stop lottery payout - This lady makes me mad. We all would like to win the lottery but a majority of us don't lie about a ticket. She's not just a loser of the lottery, but a mega liar. She sounded just like Susan Smith when speaking. I'd like to say that her actions will make others thing twice before lying about a winner ticker but there are other scam artists out there.
I'm getting off of this box now. I need to be getting dressed. But I don't want to go to school!

| Britney, Miss Savannah, and Aortal Again? |
[07 Jan 2004|02:07pm] |
Beth was listening to "Oops…I Did It Again" by Britney Spears just a moment ago. I heard her play it as I was fetching myself a glass of water. I started processing the words and thought "Who knew how prophetic it was?"
While at school, I picked up the student paper. I read it to kill time and believe it or not, they have a quotes section. On the bottom of the front page is an article on Miss Savannah. Nothing new from what was in the press prior to the gag order. However, this was published after the gag order. I know it's news and worthy to be in a paper but I thought it was tacky. The gag order is to prevent the jury pool from being tainted. We students at Armstrong are her peers. I'd link the article for non-Chatham County residents but the paper hasn't updated the online PDF  version since October.
Finally, since I haven't done this in a while, I'm spotlighting a few more sites for support of Aortal: Joy and Ryan Dot Com, SkurdyCat, Ego, Ego, Ego!, and The Sarcastic Journalist. Visit them and read a bit or two from them.
Off to complete the Thearch I promised.

| I Think I Made A Big Mistake! |
[07 Jan 2004|10:42am] |
Well, I got the other 3 classes I'm taking out of the way today. This time, all my professors are female.
First class was Civ. 1. This professor wanted our schedule and some other information, like were we working and when, do we have any special needs, any global perspectives? I answered all these questions. School is my job. I'm manic depressive but and I'm not going to let it stop me this time, and I was a military brat that never got to travel but my father has some great stories about his tours of Egypt and Korea. I was snarky! I couldn't help it. There's a lot of reading for this class but it shouldn't be as hard as the Honors Civ. I had with this professor in 1998.
English 1102 was next. I have a research paper for it! :banghead: I really don't like research papers. I'll survive it. I've survived them before. :sigh: This professor is something different, that I can tell, but serious about the course. She told us she loves pop quizes. She pretty much hinted there will be one Friday. The final course is Computer Science 1060. There are only 2 females student in my 1060 class. I'm one. A little scary if I stop and think about it. This professor can't be too much older than me. She's foreign, too - India. However, her accent isn't as heavy as my Chinese professor from last semester. I know that bugged some people last semester but it doesn't really bother me.
However, she explained that this course is a programing course. The school has changed it since I originally took it in 1998 and they haven't gotten around to changing the course description and title! :banghead: When I took 1060 in 1998, it was a course to understand the concept of programming and to learn to use a computer. It's not that course any more. I'm miffed about that but I'm going to duke it out. It's a beginning programming course and I can't handle it, maybe I don't need to major in information technology. Or if I don't too so well in it, I'm just going to scrap it and take 1050. I can only get credit or 1050 or 1060.
Prior to coming home, I stopped at 3 different office supply stores to price RAM and printers. I found some RAM for my computer for $40.00 per 128MB and a nice printer for $40.00 to boot at the same store. That's great for me. I might be able to get 256 Mb extra for my computer. Plus the 56MB I already do have, that will give me 312 total to play around with. That will suit me. And while on the subject of RAM, I knew it to be an answer to a question asked in my 1060 course. I actually understood today's lesson.
Here's a friendly health reminder from me here at ShawnAllison.com: When they say don't put anything smaller than your elbow in your ear, they mean it. I usually clean my very waxy ears with a cotton swab. Well, I don't know what happened with my left ear as I was cleaning it out last night but it's very muffled. :sigh: I'm relying on my right ear to hear things. I can tell I'm missing some sounds that I would usually hear. It's mainly background noise. I'm hoping and thinking it will clear up in a few days. I don't think I'll be using a swab ever again. I'll have to find an ear cleaning kit at the store.
That's about it from me for now. I hope to have a Thearch later. However, I do need to read for my classes.

| The Witch Is Still Teaching. |
[06 Jan 2004|05:30pm] |
After my siblings came home, my family went out for school supplies and dinner. It was nice to spend time with them. :)
One store we went to was Big Lots. While there, I asked Beth who her English teacher was. I was hoping that the teacher I had, the one that "Old Hag" is basically about, had quit teaching.Beth told me she didn't have her. However, one of her friends, Christina, had had her and failed that course. :( Well, I told Beth that if she ever got that teacher, let my mother know ASAP so my mother can get her out of that woman's classroom. Beth doesn't need the hell I went through.
Besides the fact she was a bad teacher, her classroom made me ill. My school attendance was never grand. However, my absents in 10th and 12th (no matter how much the thought of looking at Logan in class got me to come to school) were higher in those grades than 11th (when I had no Loganized classes). I'll admit I wasn't the most stable person in high school and couldn't cope with it at times. The only other factor that 10th and 12th had that 11th didn't was that I had her as a teacher. The classroom was in an older part of the school and she was all the time fussing about the heating/air unit the classroom had. Since I've gotten out of high school, I've learned all about toxic mold. It wouldn't surprise me that her classroom had it.
However, at the high school now, the English wing is not where it was when I attended. According to my sister, the new English wing is still in an older part of the school.
The weirdest thing about this all is that when my mother took Beth and Christina to school this morning, they were discussing English class! It was then that Christina brought up the fact she had that woman. My mother said she didn't like her at all and that if Beth ever got her, she would be removing Beth ASAP.
My mother's disdain for the inspiration of "Old Hag" deals not with me but my sister Nicki. Nicki had her own problems in high school. She hated the school, feared the school, and dropped out. However, props are in order for my sister. She has her G.E.D and has a job she loves, wanted, and is happy to have. :) It's more than many others have. Nicki left school in 10th grade.
Well, a few years ago, Nicki and I were discussing the witchy teacher. Nicki had her in 10th grade, too. Nicki spoke about why she didn't like her. It seems on the first day of class with her, the teacher finished her discussion before class ended. Nicki had nothing to do during the free time so she pulled out a book to read. Mrs. Witch Teacher points to my sister and says to the rest of the class that she sees one student that is going to fail her class.
Oh, that pissed my mother off when she heard that. She wished that Nicki spoke up right then and there when it happened. My mother would have confronted her over that. School is to be a place to learn. It is to encourage reading and to get kids interested in something they enjoyed. Nicki enjoyed reading. She didn't go to school without a book to read in her spare time. And this witch is upset about Nicki reading a book in spare time! My mother was already having trouble trying to get Nicki to actually go to school, then. My mother feel this woman's actions just led to my sister losing her heart into going to school. Dear Witchy Poo teacher is to blame for Nicki, in my mother's eyes.
I honestly don't blame my mother. I know, I'm a little bias, but still, it's wrong for an English teacher to discourage reading like that. Knowing I had her for 2 school years, I believe my sister. She would end class early and start talking about things like current events and how horrible the school system was. She would also go on and on about her son when she wasn't teaching. Nicki's story about pulling a book out makes perfect sense to me.
I didn't mean to get into a rant about this one teacher. I just thought it was funny that both my mother and I, independent of each other, told Beth that if she got that teacher, run away! It's sad to think she's still teaching. However, there are probably ex-students of her that just loved her. Which is fine and dandy by me but she gets no love in my household.
Guess I need to get off this box and read for my own course work.

| If You Have Confidence, Use It. |
[06 Jan 2004|11:45am] |
I would sure love to have confidence.
Today was the first day of class for me for the Spring 2004 semester. My classes today were Psych 1100 and History 1100. History got out early. This should be an exception for class. We're to study the history of the American political system in class. That is what we will be tested on in class. The tests will be essay style. The professor also assigned us questions to answer out of class regarding the state of Georgia. It looks simple on paper. These papers are due around the time we take our tests. He basically said we had the chance to earn 600 points total for the course. I just did the math. To get the minimum A, I need just 540 points. The grading system for this class is weird.
After that course, I have psychology. We went straight to work in this course. I wanted to laugh at the subject matter we spoke about today. It was about dualism of the mind and the brain. The professor spoke about how scientists don't believe their is a supernatural reason as to why things happen. I must question it. How can science determine my love of Richard Marx music, baseball, and bunny rabbits? Science might explain why I get depressed at times but it can't explain all of me. Or so I think. Plus, there's a lot more out there it can't explain. Science might claim that after I die, that's it. I am nothing more. However, I hope there is a higher power and I continue living, and not just in genes. I know what I need to do with this course. I need to take it with a grain of salt. It might be a course that's good for me, after all. I think all this self-doubt and the feeling of being unsure stems from the philosophical questions he used to open the course.
Yes, back to the title of hand. I would sure love to have confidence. I realize that of all the things I want, many of it starts from confidence. I really don't have it. I'm so unsure of myself. I'm all the time doubt that anyone like me. Why would any one want to be friends with me? I must be :tihs:ing nuts to think that one day I'm going to actually fall in love with an attractive guy and hopefully get married. And while many people tell me I'm beautiful, I never feel like it. Insecurity took over. However, I didn't wear it on my sleeve.
I know what one of my biggest problems is. Beside the lack of confidence. I'm too shy and not willing to take a chance on people. Pretty silly considering I open this up to the world to read. I promise you, this Shawn you read here is not the same Shawn that lives a life away from the computer. I have a hard time relating to other people. I'm always afraid of being one big boob.
I did *gasp* speak to a couple of classmates from last semester. One girl is in my history course. The other girl, I saw in the science building waiting for Psych. She was waiting for another guy from last semester's history course to get out of one of his classes. I don't know if she's dating him or they are just good friends. If she is, she didn't get a bad guy. He may not be the most attractive guy, however, he comes across as very confident but not a real ass and volunteers with children. I spoke to each girl a bit. They're nice, however, I can't really call them friends. Maybe my definition of friend is too strict. I don't know. But they are a friendly face I can semi-relate too.
Well, enough of this pity party that believe it or not, I'm not really crying about. I'm just hoping tomorrow will be better. I have Civ. I, English 1102, and that blasted computer course I need to retake. I bought the remaining books I needed for school this morning. Another $92.00 and some change of Pell money gone. However, I calculated I should get about $150.00-$162.00 of my remaining school funds if I don't need any other books. I'll be spending that money on school related items - adding more RAM to my computer so I can multi-task better, getting some school supplies, and whatever else I might need. I know it won't be much, but I'm going to use it. After all, that's what it's there for - to use for educational purposes. That's what this computer is going to be used for.

| Last Night's Weather Was Perfect… |
[05 Jan 2004|11:59am] |
If I lived in Argentina.
As I was going to bed last night, I was just too hot. I couldn't take it anymore, so I turned on my A/C unit. That wouldn't be so bad in January if I lived in the Southern Hemisphere since it would be summer there. However, I live in Savannah, GA, where the last time I checked, was in the Northern Hemisphere and is in the middle of winter. My room couldn't get cold enough fast enough for me. I didn't bother to sleep under a blanket. I had to hunt down a sheet to sleep under to be confortable last night.
My mother said the high today is to be 80ºF today! Tomorrow is to get back to normal with the temperature somewhere around 50ºF.
Wacky weather makes me wacky.

| Monday Mission 4.0 |
[05 Jan 2004|11:45am] |
There you have it. This is the final new Monday Mission by Promoguy. However, you can still work on previous Missions.
1. In the last week, what happened that made you feel loved beyond your wildest dreams? [from MM 1.0] Not really, I hate to say. The story of my life. Goodness, I fear I'm always going to be single.
2. What was the last audio CD you paid money for?[from MM 1.3] John Mayer's Heavier Things.
3. Has someone you know ever told you they had a terminal illness? What was it like for you when you found out. How did that change your relationship with them?[from MM 2.45] No. My mother told me that Grandma was ill in 2000 and we knew it was coming but she was always the distanced grandmother.
4. Do you have an accent? Are there any phrases or words you say that tip folks that you aren't from around these parts?[from MM 2.38] Yes, it's a Savannah River accent with a few years seasoning in Fayetteville, NC. However, half the stuff I say to people will tip them off I'm not from Savannah, originally. Even if I've lived here for 10 years.
5. What's the difference between being a Father, and being a Daddy?[from MM 3.25] I'll just link that Mission, OK?.
6. What is the most recent thing guilt has motivated you to do?[from MM 2.50] I'm feeling guilty being a bum at this moment but school starts tomorrow. I won't feel as bad.
7. How do you feel about tips and tipping? Do you feel obligated to tip even if your service is bad because you know the servers don't get paid much? If you've ever relied on tips for your income, how do you feel when you don't get any? [This is a new one, had to throw in at least one more hot topic before I sign off] I'll tip what I know is fair if I get good service. If it's bad service, the tip depends on what happened. If the server is not at fault, they'll get a good tip for putting up with us and for being unfortunate that their employer couldn't get it's stuff together. However, if you are just someone that doesn't care, well, I don't care what tips you do get. You didn't earn one from me. I don't expect my server to wait on me hand and foot, but once in a while, make sure I have some water!
BONUS: Will you still love me for the rest of my life? At first, I thought of Carole King's "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" but I knew it wasn't that. As I was saying out loud did I realize it was Chicago. Why not, Promo. You're one of the best in the Blog world.

| I Want More RAM. |
[04 Jan 2004|10:35am] |
Last night, my father and I watched NASA TV. The C-Band satellite dish is not working but we found that MSNBC.com carried a live feed via the Internet. We watched that. My father wanted to know it the Mars landing was a success. He cheered when they got a bounce. He got quiet when they lost a signal. We joked then that the Martians got another one. He cheered when they recovered a signal. And if you don't know, "Spirit" made a successful landing.
The computer we watched it on was a computer that our holiday guests gave my mother. It puts mine to shame. It only has Windows 98, as does mine. However, it has 192MB of RAM. I only have 56MB. No wonder we could watch the NASA feed! If I did that on my computer, I'd have to reboot after 30 minutes. As soon as we can, we'll be trying to get new RAM into this thing.

| I Hope The New Year Has Been Good To You, So Far. |
[01 Jan 2004|03:06pm] |
It's been OK for me. Last night was bland but that's OK. :) We watched the ball drop on TV. After that, we looked out our living room window and watched fireworks. Using fireworks without a permit is illegal in Georgia but people don't care at New Year's Eve and Fourth Of July. Many people in the neighborhood seemed to be setting them off. You couldn't help but see them. I'll admit, some were pretty. I felt like a little kid watching them out the window.
Today, time has been spent working on the dolls. :sigh: At this moment, I'm preparing my mother's site for PHP. I have some space I don't use on my site and plenty of bandwidth I pay for and don't use. I figured I'd transfer the site over to my server and we'd get her her own domain name. She sounds excited about it. Her friend Nancy sure was at the idea. So, while they are dressing and posing dolls for pictures, I'm working on the coding cleanup. After the photos, I'll be taking off old pictures and placing in new photos on the site.
Good thing I don't have class on Monday.

| New Year's Eve Plans. |
[31 Dec 2003|01:48pm] |
I'm not doing much this year. Staying home, again. I was invited to my sister's for tonight but they plan to do some real partying, which just isn't my style. Actually, my mother's friends from Augusta will be coming down here tonight. My mother and Nancy will be playing with their Chatty Cathy dolls this holiday weekend. Nancy's bringing her digital camera. When they aren't too busy with it, I might grab it and get some pictures of my own. For sure, Scooter and Graysie must be photographed. After all the photos are taken, I will have to work on my mother's site and update that as soon as I can.
Honestly, I can't wait for Tuesday. School is back in session. :) I need to head to the bookstore soon to find out if my other Civ. I books have come in.

| Tonight's Pizza Disaster |
[30 Dec 2003|10:59pm] |
Tonight, my family went to dinner to for pizza. Savannah has 4 locations of this pizza chain we chose to patron, however, you can only dine-in at one of them. Since we wanted to eat out, we went to that one.
It was a disaster. It took over an hour for us to get our food. :banghead: Two other parties that arrived after we did got their meal before us. We weren't the only unhappy customers. The family that came in after us gave up on their order and took the buffet since you had a snowball's chance in Hades to get some pizza that way. The couple next to us were impatient and left, after giving our poor waiter and the manager  some lip service. A couple of guys that were sitting and dining before us spent a majority of the time we where there there because they couldn't get all the food they expected at a buffet. The diners got restless and we got snarky. Even our poor waiter got snarky when he had to refill the salad bar after a majority of the patrons left. That's pretty bad.
I think we should have gotten our meal for free since it was poor service in regards to getting food. They only had two kids to serve the entire population of Savannah that chose to dine at the place. We all knew it wasn't their fault. In fact, I told our waiter that it wasn't his fault. The blame for tonight's mess should be thrusted upon the person/people that decided that Savannah only needed on dine-in Pizza Hut in the city limits, instead of two like we once had. It just happened to roll downhill to him. In the end, we got a $39.00 meal for only $20.00. They should have been grateful we put up with that crap because Nicki really wanted pizza.
As much as I love the pizza from this place, I doubt I'll be dining in again. Which is shame because I do like dining in for pizza.
In other news, a gag order was issued in the Miss Savannah murder case.
